Well, I've officially been back in the US for one month today...it seems crazy to think about. Time has really been flying! I have been in Florida for about 2 1/2 weeks now and am starting to get in the groove a bit! I have been getting settled into my new place and am getting to know the team and the town better.
The first official responsibilities for my apprenticeship were to assist in debriefing our interns from Kenya. It was a great opportunity for me to hear more about the ministry there and it was awesome to hear all of their stories of how God was working all summer. Since then, I have been involved in lots of meetings to brainstorm and prepare for what's to come...
So, what's to come? Well, we are getting geared up to start working hard on recruiting and getting the word out about our summer internships for next year (so if you know of any college-age kids who want to do some over-seas missions, well, let me know). We're also going to be working on talking with our global youth workers about how we can better serve them and planning the internships for next summer. Finally, I will begin to do some preliminary reading to learn more about agricultural development and community health evangelism (CHE). It is a very exciting time ahead and I am looking forward to all that God is going to be teaching me and doing with our ministry!
On another quick note...as Ramadan comes to an end let's keep praying for Muslims around the world and our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in the trenches to bring the Gospel and it's message of grace to all who they meet.
Be blessed!
